An authentic 19th century mansion
Located in the very pretty village of Ducey-Les Chéris, just 15 minutes from Mont Saint Michel,
La Rose de Ducey is an old 19th century stone manor house.
Upon entering the gate, an elegant marquise carved entrance overlooking a beautiful carved horseshoe shape staircase is eye-catching. The railings, decorated with garlands of roses will lead you into a romantic and enchanting universe.
In the garden, an ancient Oak tree, a guardian of time, has been and still is, the majestic witness to the life of this house … We know, for example, that it would have sheltered some resistance fighters during the Second World War … And if it could speak to us, we are certain that it would give us many other exciting secrets!
Crossing the door steps, one would be carried away by the atmosphere of a blooming garden in each room of the house. Largely, due to engravings and paintings by the renowned Pierre-Joseph Redouté, notably a painter of the queens of France, Marie-Antoinette and Josephine de Beauharnais.
A gourmet breakfast to savor and start your day
Breakfast is served in the bright dining room facing the garden, and it is set in shades of royal blue, enhancing the atmosphere of casual serenity while guest enjoy their gourmet breakfast. One can discover many paintings and flower prints of Dutch painters of the 18th and 19th centuries. Above the principle dining table, is a crystal chandelier of a diameter of 1 meter decorated with royal blue tassels, giving the room its warm and elegant feeling.
While savoring your gourmet breakfast, guest will discover many regional and homemade products. Coffee, tea, herbal tea, hot chocolate, apple juice, pastries, breads, cereals, jams, seasonal fruit salads, homemade yogurts, dried fruits, cheeses, not to mention pancakes, sweet or savory cakes and homemade pies of the day. Also, for our consciously health aware customers, homemade granola can be also self made!
Breakfast will be served from 8:00 to 10:30 in the dining room and, when the weather permits, on our beautiful terrace. Those who prefer to have a simple breakfast, may reserve it a day in advance up to 17pm.
